Who Are Our Nannies
We find our nannies through word of mouth and advertising on various job boards and social media. Purely Childcare prides itself on building lasting relationships with our nannies and families.
We work with nannies who have had significant formal or informal experience working with children. A large number of our candidates are college educated or have had child related training preparing them for work as caregivers. They all have their own vehicle which they are willing to use to transport children as well as a valid driver's license. We only place a nanny if we would feel comfortable having her take care of our own children. We actually reject about 75% of the nannies who apply based on their completed application, responses to interview questions, lack of quality references, and/or lack of knowledge pertaining to child development.
What Can You Expect of Your Nanny?
The nanny’s first priority is the care and well-being of the children. Most nannies are open to light housekeeping and running family errands. Light housekeeping as defined by Purely Childcare, generally consists of those tasks revolving around the care of the children. We find that the needs of the children are best met when the housekeeping responsibilities are clearly less important than child care responsibilities. Usually nannies are willing to transport children in their car and require reimbursement for mileage, HMRC guidelines are £0.45 per mile.

Usually a live in nanny works 5 days a week and babysit 2 nights in the week, this can be decided between the family and nanny.
Live Out Nanny - travels to the family's house each day. Live-out full time nannies generally work for up to 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. Part-time nannies are great if you need childcare for a few days a week or before and after school.
